In The Deep Dark Wood
Young Adult Dark Fantasy | Standalone
Necromancy ~ Monsters ~ Found Family ~ Self-Discovery
Charlotte steps back from the oak tree, heart beating wildly in her chest as the eerie melody of the bone flute dies away in the wood. She turns away, carrying on her way home quickly, not hearing the tree's whisper at her back.
“He is coming for you.”
Cinceris Isle is rumored to have been the home of powerful witches and ancient magic. It’s here a necromancer, known only as the Trickster, has laid a deadly curse. No one's safe and no one can leave until he gets what he wants. Maybe not even then.
Charlotte is a seventeen-year-old who wants nothing more than to find a place to belong and to have people who will love her unconditionally. However, being labeled the daughter of a traitor for her father’s transgressions, has caused her to live alone in isolation for the last five years.
While those living in the villages run her out with violence, to a group of witches who have been living in secret within the woods for generations, Charlotte is the girl who can hear the trees whisper... and with the Trickster’s reemergence from the shadows, the trees are warning her of dark secrets that run deeper than their roots.
To stop the Trickster and end the curse, Charlotte must discover what the Heart of the wood is with the help of a witch, who has secretly loved her from afar, and the strange boy she suddenly befriends. But the Heart of the wood isn’t what anyone expected– a living, breathing person –and the boy she just befriended intends to rip out their heart to offer for a trade with the same necromancer that cursed them all. That is, if the witch doesn't stop him first.
Her greatest problem though? She’s what everyone has been searching for, and she’s the only one who doesn’t know it yet.
To those who should wander,
fear the monster in the hood.
To those who should go freely,
beware the deep, dark wood.

A macabre baking competition that transforms family into fiends.

The Feast of Souls is upon the sleepy village of Edmontown, and only one person will come out alive. A deep-seated rivalry and bitterness has festered among the Rathmore family due to the curse that compels them to compete in a macabre bake-off. As the competition begins, the kitchen becomes a battleground of dark sorcery and treacherous tactics. Relatives blend cursed ingredients and twisted recipes with sinister intent to outdo one another.
Persephone Rathmore has spent her entire life knowing that one day a black envelope would arrive bearing a blood-red seal. With it, she would be forced to participate in the sinister holiday that brings her family together only to turn them into fiends.
Casimir Kuolema wants nothing more than to escape from beneath his mother’s poisoned touch and take Persephone with him. The curse that binds the girl who holds his heart is the same curse that might just tear them apart. If she doesn’t win the Feast of Souls and
instead loses her own to his mother’s clutches, he will tear through all who stand in his way to ensure he and Persie survive the fallout.
All will seek to escape the curse, no matter the consequences.
