Oh gosh! Well, where do I start? How about WELCOME! The Tea Party is my blog space where you can expect:
1. That updates will happen monthly, perhaps bi-monthly.
2. These posts are generally going to be a duplicate version of my monthly newsletter.
3. You'll learn valuable information on my books, upcoming releases, giveaways, short stories, tips
& tricks, recipes, and more!
4. Chaos - I live and breathe it!
I'm not sure an introduction is necessary if you've already ventured down the rabbit hole and peeked through the roses on my site. You probably know me better than you'd like.
Here we go anyway in case you missed it somewhere!
Most people know me as Coco.
My older brother was an only child for a long while, wanted some siblings, and imagined a few up. One being Coco-Pop. When my little brother came around, my name shortened and Coco was born.
I'm a dork at heart. These days, I'm not quite sure what that means because I think we're all a little bit dorky in our own ways. So *insert your definition here*.
Some of my favorite things are baking, LOTR, Harry Potter, video games (I own nearly every platform, but prefer my computer for State of Decay and Sims -- yes, the Sims, you read that right.), Manga, pumpkin spice EVERYTHING (I have a recipe for Pumpkin Chorizo that is to die for!), dark and creepy books, tarot cards, gardening, pistachio pudding, whole milk (though I can't and shouldn't drink it), and will never turn down chicken parmesan.
I'm an avid hiker and will willing to choose to go to the mountains on a 10-mile hike rather than spend another minute at the beach. Lived in Florida for a great portion of my life, you see. Sand in my shorts and hair, like I do not.
I prefer fall and winter to summer, and can take or leave spring depending on the year.
I'm a personal servant to two cats, one of whom I am deeply concerned is a human trapped in a feline body. Can you guess which one?
I'm also a caretaker of six tiny dinosaurs that act more like prima donnas.
I live with my mini-me and husband in the mountains surrounded by farmland and one grocery store within a 45-minute radius.
I love all things dark and creepy with a hint of romance, and am a practicing green witch who comes from a Catholic background.
I've worked in Public Service most of my adult life, from a Bookmobile to Head of Youth Services for a large library system in Florida, and even working in Parks & Rec (Yes, it is like the show!).
I have a B.A. in Native American Studies and M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction (focused on adolescent literacy). I still write fanfiction (and read it too).
I write mainly young adult dark fantasy and have dabbled in adult horror. I'm a Hufflepuff, a Cancer, and please no long walks on the beach. We've already been over this.
So... do I get the job?
Just so we're transparent here, most days I feel a little like Alice wandering aimlessly through Wonderland. So, this tea party is going to reflect that.
Tea is going to be spilled.
In the words of the Cheshire Cat, who I firmly believe is my spirit animal:
"We're all mad here."
